Milk Fund
The Milk Fund was established in 1939 to provide dairy products and food supplements to children and elderly citizens. Through the Milk Fund, Weigel’s hopes to help improve the health of those who are in need of better nutrition. The money raised is also used to help those that need dietary products to help any chronic diseases they may have.
Today, underprivileged families are provided with vouchers to obtain year round supplies of milk, orange juice, cottage cheese, and dietary supplements. Weigel’s contributes a portion of store proceeds as well as in-store collection. For every cup of coffee, eggnog and cappuccino that is purchased, a fraction of the cost will go towards proceeds for this particular fundraiser.
