KNOXVILLE, TN (July 22, 2026) — Weigel’s, the East Tennessee leader in convenience known for fresh food, award-winning customer engagement, and nearly a century of serving local communities, today announced that it has more than tripled the annualized run rate of its delivery business between December 2025 and July 2026. The milestone reflects continued growth in first-party mobile ordering alongside expansion onto third-party marketplaces, creating new opportunities to serve customers while driving incremental sales growth.

“We’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible,” said Nick Triantafellou, Director of Marketing and Merchandising at Weigel’s. “Convenience means more than proximity and fast transactions in 2026. The customer who stops in for coffee and donuts on the way to work might not want to leave the house on Friday night, and it’s important that we’re there for them in both moments.”

Working in partnership with Vroom Delivery, Weigel’s maintains an integrated digital commerce experience across its website, mobile app, and third-party marketplaces such as DoorDash and Uber Eats. Behind the scenes, automated menu management and back-office integration synchronizes pricing, inventory, and product availability in real-time across each channel, while eliminating the need for manual order entry and reconciliation. With MyWeigel’s Rewards fully integrated into first-party ordering, customers are able to earn points and redeem rewards. The partnership also enabled the popular $6 W Menu promotions to carry over seamlessly from the app into the ordering experience.

While first-party ordering continues to see steady growth since launch, Weigel’s has also experienced significant incremental growth through its expanded presence on third-party marketplaces. Marketplace customers make purchasing decisions based on the options available at that moment, giving Weigel’s an opportunity to capture occasions that might have otherwise been lost. Taken together, the company’s omnichannel strategy creates more growth than either channel could achieve on its own.

“Being customer-first means being available whenever and wherever we’re needed,” explains Triantafellou. “Here’s something fun that most people don’t know. Delivery orders for donuts peak between midnight and one in the morning, but each store receives fresh donuts from our commissary around 11:00pm each night. That means our delivery customers are enjoying the freshest donuts in East Tennessee.”

Beyond mobile ordering and delivery, Weigel’s continues to earn recognition for its innovative approach to customer engagement. Most recently, the company received Platinum honors for Excellence in Gamification at the 2026 Loyalty360 Awards.
